21,484 plans in the catalogue cover more than one country and carry no single destination, so they are not in the A to Z above. Crossing borders, a regional pack usually beats buying each country separately.
Listed separately because they are not countries: the old index had EU, Global, Gulf of Mexico, Inflight and North Sea interleaved with real destinations.
Coverage questions
How many countries do you cover?
223 destinations have at least one plan in the index, plus 4 non-country packs and 21,484 multi-country plans. Earlier versions of this page said 262, which counted the same country more than once wherever two providers spelled its name differently.
Why did the count change?
The index is now keyed on country code rather than country name. The catalogue holds 294 distinct names for 230 codes - United Kingdom appears as UK, United Kingdom and United Kingdom (UK) - so a name-based list showed one country several times. Every spelling still works as a search term.
Can I search by an old name or a city?
Yes. Holland finds the Netherlands, Burma finds Myanmar, Dubai finds the United Arab Emirates and Saigon finds Vietnam. Accents are ignored, so Cote finds Côte d'Ivoire and Turkiye finds Türkiye.
What are the regional packs?
21,484 plans cover several countries at once and name no single destination, so they sit outside the A to Z. If you are crossing borders one regional pack usually beats buying a separate plan per country.
Does a bigger catalogue mean cheaper?
No. Depth means more to compare, not a lower price. Japan has the most plans we track and is not the cheapest per gigabyte; each destination page ranks providers on price per gigabyte rather than on how many plans they list.
Which network will I be on?
It depends on the plan, and most providers do not publish it. Where they name the local operator in the plan text, the destination page lists it and counts how many providers name each one.
